About Me:

My wife Lisa and I own a small business marketing consulting business Edge Marketing. We help small businesses get noticed online. We do this by managing keyword search, social media sites and email marketing for our clients. We also do customized event promotions and sponsorship sales. Edge Marketing conducts Kitchen Table Sessions that meet monthly to help companies learn about and work on their marketing strategies.

I am an active Terre Haute Chamber member, serve on the local SBDC Advisory Board and I a member of Rainmakers. I am currently serving on Vigo County Extension Board.

I have served as President of Entrepreneurs Alliance of Indiana and on the Board of the Indianapolis Business Marketing Association. I came to the Wabash Valley in 2005 after consulting the Crossroads Radio stations (B 102.7, WAXI 104.9, CROCK 92.7 and ESPN 1130 & 1300) for a year and ½ and joining the Board of Directors.

I have 2 boys and live on a small farm South of Rosedale, Indiana.

In the last few days I have received several reports of a member leaving spam comments for other members. This member has been banned from the site. Bad people are continuing to find ways to infest social media sites. Any time you see something that doesn't look right please let me know so we can eliminate the problem.

Where Small Business Should be Online

Small businesses need to embrace social networking but where should you be? The sites I feel that are key include; www.facebook.com, www.linkedin.com, www.plaxo.com and any local or niche networks related to a specific industry or market. You don’t have to be everywhere but you need to be somewhere.

The sky is falling! How will my business survive? Is this thought going thru your mind right now? The news media is picking up on every negative economic news they can tout. I hope to. Mostly depends on the weather. Rose H is on winter break, so my friends who run the Mechanical Eng.machine shop are probably gone this week. I have an ongoing project of fabricating some custom Wood lathe turning tools. ( I turn Artistic Reproductions of Medievel items) They are essencially done except for heat treating, and I hope to get to RHIT next week to complete that step. I'll let you know in advance and maybe we can have lunch.
