Take your dog on nice walk around Sullivan Lake and visit my booth to get your dog photographed for just $5.
I will be there supporting the new animal shelter for Sullivan County along with several other pet related sponsors. Woof!
I doubt it would go over very well here. People here are frugal beyond reason, and there's no humane society. You might contact the animal shelter in Paris for their humane society contact, though. The chapter up there is very active, and people tend to have deeper pockets.
I told a friend of mine about your studio. She would like photos of herself with her furry "babies." Her name is Arlene Lindsey, and she's our Jr. High Principal.
I have 1 million in business liability but have yet to have a vendor ask me for my insurance certificate. The building we're considering is empty, so we can rent it for very little. The last home show I participated in (same building) was only $200. Between a couple of us who would like to plan it, we have access to a TV station and two newspapers for inexpensive advertising. We'll have to talk about it, but I think it would be a good thing.
I know what you mean about the economy. I had a really slow first quarter of 2009, but things have started to pick up again. Right now I have almost more seniors than I can handle.
As for bridal shows, I don't really think they're worth the expense to be honest. I get most of my business from word of mouth and Google at this point. A couple of vendor friends and I have discussed the possibility of putting on a bridal expo here. We would split the cost of the building rental with other vendors and call in some favors to advertise it. It's a thought for next year, I suppose.
Take care. If I hear of anyone needing pet photos, I'll send them your way.
Hi, Dawn! You and I met briefly a couple of years ago at the Tribune Star bridal show. I think I still have your card that had a beautiful Boxer on the front. I really don't do many weddings in this area, because most people think $500 is the normal price for a wedding. My last wedding was in Atwood and the next two are in Allerton and Decatur. The business I do most in this area are senior portraits, newborn photos, events, and school sports pics. The engagement session business is picking up, also, and I've even done a Trash the Dress session. But weddings remain elusive for some reason.
Nice to hear from you again! If you have a Facebook, add me and become a fan of my business page.

About Me:
I specialize in pet photography but enjoy photographing weddings, class reunions and especially babies.
I never met a dog I didn't like. If there happens to be a human attached to the other end of the leash...it's my lucky day!
