Auto Parts Maker to Idle Indiana Plant

A key employer in Shelbyville is indefinitely idling production. Meridian Automotive Systems says the decision impacts 295 workers. The company made the announcement in a letter to Shelbyville Mayor Scott Ferguson.

Some ArcelorMittal Employees Return to Work

Most ArcelorMittal employees who were laid off at Indiana Harbor East when the company idled production have been called back to work. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report the steel maker is planning to restart a blast furnace July 20. But ArcelorMittal is still planning to temporarily idle production for its bar company at the facility. Those employees are facing layoffs this month.

Finish Line Closes Man Alive Deal

Indianapolis-based The Finish Line Inc. (Nasdaq: FINL) says has closed on the deal to exit the Man Alive business. Man Alive LLC, controlled by the owner of Jimmy Jazz stores, has taken over the Man Alive outlets. The Finish Line announced last month it was paying approximately $7 million dollars as part of the transaction.
